Jesus is asked when the kingdom of God will come. Jesus says,
“The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20-21, NIV)
Looking hard, you aren’t going to see the kingdom of heaven. No one is going to say to you, “Hey, here’s the kingdom.” No leader of any church is going to point to a date on a calendar and say, “This is the day of the Lord; His kingdom comes now.” Instead, says Jesus, I Am the kingdom of heaven and I Am within you. When? Now.
Thomas, who is confused, asks “Lord, we don’t know where You are going, so how can we know the way?” (John 14:5) Jesus responds,
“I Am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you really know Me, you know My Father as well. From now on, you do know Him and see Him.” (John 14:6-7)
Philip asks Jesus to show the Father and says, “That will be enough.” (Luke 14:8)
Jesus answers, “Don’t you know Me?” (Luke 14:9)
Father God, thank You for Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
